About this song
The protective hum of the Hekma has been replaced by the drone of a billion wings. When the sky goes black over Naktamun, it is not night, but a god's unending hunger blotting out the two suns.
Lyrics
[Verse 1] They told us the promised hour would save us. The Hekma hummed its water over the roofs, then the hum was not the water anymore. You were the weather over Naktamun. [Hook] Eat the wall, eat the light. Two suns out, sudden night. Strike you down, you come back. Swarm on the suns, black on black. [Verse 2] The desert walked in through the gap you opened. A dragon had put your star out, took your name, and left you the hunger with nothing to hold. You carried it out to the Broken Lands. [Hook] Eat the wall, eat the light. Two suns out, sudden night. Strike you down, you come back. Swarm on the suns, black on black. [Turn] When the metal came for the city you ate, you stood in the way. No one asked you to. You turned back to the waste beside your sibling, and told us nothing. You never do. [Hook] Eat the wall, eat the light. Two suns out, sudden night. Strike you down, you come back. Swarm on the suns, black on black.
